Interested in busting stigma around mental illness and suicide in middle & high school classrooms?
Breaking The Silence/New Mexico announces its Aug 26 facilitator training from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Albuquerque.
Objective: To train facilitators to present two scripted 45-minute lessons on mental illness to middle and high school students. Note: The training will prepare professionals and non-professionals to teach both lessons.
You will receive the manual, training, and support along the way in order to join the team of dedicated BTS/NM presenters who are educating New Mexico youth about mental illness in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Española, Pojoaque, and Taos.
Goal: To provide the language necessary for middle and high school youth to talk about the often taboo topic of mental illness in order to replace stereotypes with facts and stigma with compassion.
Where: Grief Resource Center, 1113 University Blvd. NE in Albuquerque. (behind French Funerals)
Cost: $25 fee is non-refundable and includes training, materials and lunch.

CEUs Available: 5 ½ CEUs from the National Association of Social Workers-New Mexico for Social Workers and LPCCs. Additional cost for CEUs is $50.
